I had to share a few more images from one of the evenings at my Colorado photography retreat. The storms clouds put on a great show as we watched this family run and play with the Garden of the Gods as the backdrop. It was one of those nights where everything just fell into place and looking at these makes me want to go back right now. 🤍

If you make it through all this..bless you. 🙏🏻😂 Forgive my poor editing and voice over job, just wanted to show you a little glimpse into our crazy life.

Honestly - some days are great, others are a hot mess. But at the end of the day, instead of judging my success based on a clean house or completed check list, I think about the kids.

Are they happy? Are their little souls at peace? Is our home a safe place and refuge for them? Can they see and feel God’s love surrounding them throughout the day?

That’s what matters the most to me. 🫶🏻 Parents, don’t let how the world judges success be in the forefront of your mind- YOU decide what you want your life to look like and run hard after that.

This is 42. 🙌🏻 Although I’m not super thrilled about that number, I’m thankful beyond measure for this life.

This year was a beautiful one. I fought for my peace and found contentment in the glorious breath that fills my lungs each day. I took time to slow down and realize that I truly have everything I need.

I’m surrounded by love everyday - through all the rough times and the loneliness - I have three little humans who love me unconditionally. Being a mother to them and the precious time we have together is the greatest gift I could ask for.

God has blessed me in so many ways- I have a career that I love, but one that doesn’t consume me. Being able to connect with so many amazing clients and create beautiful art just makes my heart so happy. Traveling, hosting retreats, doing mentorships and seeing other photographers grow & succeed fills my cup.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who are here. Who have supported me and loved me throughout the years. Who hired me when my photos were far from great, and who grew with me to where I am now. Love you all!! Here’s to another year filled with more adventure and beauty!!

They were married right up the road and took their wedding photos here in 2015.

Followed by their first pregnancy announcement photos, and fifth wedding anniversary photos while holding their newborn.

This is their little field of dreams, so when the stars aligned and we were finally all in Colorado together - we prayed for a perfect night.

The skies opened up to the most glorious colors, and we all could feel in the air what a special moment this was. My eyes watered more than once watching this sweet family of 5 standing where before it was only 2 of them.

Justin & Lizzy- thank you again for trusting me with such a special place & memories.

The mountains always feel like home.

I’ve been here a few days scouting locations for my retreat, and today it begins! I cannot wait to welcome the rest of the women to this magical place.

These retreats are always a dream come true for me- I love watching others fall more deeply in love with photography as they have the space to let their hearts connect with what they see.

Alright friends- final call for my CO Photography retreat!! I could tell you all about the awesome adventures we will have, friends we will make, beautiful sessions we will shoot together… but instead I just want to tell you my heart.

I’ve been a photographer for almost two decades. I know the ups and downs that being self-employed can bring. I know how tough it can be to shift with the economy. I know how discouraging and overwhelming imposter syndrome can feel. And I know how impossible it is to create beautiful art from a place deep inside your soul if you don’t feel the freedom to be vulnerable and express yourself.

I want you to have a place where your soul can find some peace and rest. Where you don’t feel pressure to show up a certain way- you can just be yourself.

A place where the pressure is off of YOU and you can grab your camera and just be free. 🤍

I want you to succeed, and I want to help you in anyway I can. That’s what these retreats are all about.

It’s crazy how a day on the calendar can mean so much. And then so little. And even if you don’t remember the day, your subconscious does. You just know something is off, it keeps nagging you - so you look at the date … and then you know.

It feels like just yesterday, and at the same time it feels like a lifetime ago. A different reality in which you existed for a while, but it’s now long gone.

I’m thankful that God gave us the ability to heal. To move on. That we can get to a place where a certain day, or time, or song doesn’t cause us to freeze in our tracks or take the breath out of our lungs.

I’m thankful for life, and that even though it may not look like we thought it would, it can still be beautiful. We can still live it to its fullest.

And I’m MOST thankful that whatever path we have taken that has landed us where we are now - God always has good plans and a good future ahead for us when we trust in Him.

Running a photography business & homeschooling my kids is tough sometimes, but I honestly wouldn’t trade these days together for anything.

It’s a constant balancing act between being their teacher, their mom and getting work done. Some days I’m on top of the world - other days I feel like an epic failure. But I know how quickly childhood slips away, so I’m doing my best to hang on to every moment and to make sure we have the best memories together.

Forever thankful for a career that allows me to create the life I want for myself & children.

Photography has done this for me. It has pushed me to dig deeper into myself and learn how to create art from an emotional place instead of just “taking a photo”.

I have watched my photography change over the years, many times it mirrors the ebb and flow of my life. It’s so beautiful because when you create from your heart, it will be ever evolving just like life is.

All that to say, don’t be afraid to let yourself show in your photography, if you are afraid to be vulnerable, you will miss out on the beauty that it brings.
